The best tip (forgive the pun) is to dab some clear nail polish on the
ends to prevent fraying. Just be careful not to get any nail polish on the tallit and let it
dry overnight, so the smell doesn't get absorbed into the tallit.
If obtaining clean nail polish is an inconvenience, you can also use clear glue, but it may come out when you wash the tzitzit.
